Use this website to learn about and participate in the planning efforts currently under way for Seattle’s newest gem, a maritime heritage and history center at Lake Union Park. This Master Planning process is funded with a Transportation Enhancement Grant through the Washington Department of Transportation.

Maritime Heritage Taskforce Working Group - August 24th

Friday August 24th, 2007 we will hold the Working Group Meeting from 10:00 – Noon in the Auditorium, of the Naval Reserve Armory in Lake Union Park.  

Topics will include:

  • Debrief of Lady Washington Visit
  • Debrief on South Lake Union Block Party
  • Update on Upcoming Events

Friday June 29th the Maritme Heritage Taskforce will hold a meeting in the Auditorium from 10:00 - 12:00 am at the Naval Reserve Armory in Lake Union Park.

Maritime Heritage Taskforce Working Group - July 27th

Friday July 27, 2007 we will hold our Working Group meeting from 10:00-noon in the Auditorium, upstairs in the Naval Reserve Armory at Lake Union Park.  
 
Topics will include:
 
(1)  Transportation Grant--Brainstorming ideas for four illustrations.  These will be part of the final Exhibit and Interpretation Master Plan and probably used by all of us in our fundraising.  They will be done by the same artist who painted the watercolors which are used curently to describe the physical features of Lake Union Park.   We want to brainstorm what to include in the illustrations to show how vibrant the Park will be with all the programming, exhibits and events that our collection of organizations bring.
 
(2) Update on upcoming events.

- Steamboat meet (Aug)
- Lady Washington visit (Aug)

Topics will include:
 
(1) Festival de-brief (both ideas for next year's Festival; and also lessons-learned for shared events in general)
 
(2) Update on collaboration for upcoming events (Ballard Seafood Festival, SLU Block Party, Steamboat Meet, Lady Washington visit, Honor Pole event, Workboat Show, etc.)
 
(3) Ideas for new e-newsletter summarizing maritime activities at Lake Union park.  Discussion.  Who is our audience?  What is the content?   Frequency?
