Courtney Bartlett - Education Specialist - CWB

Courtney Bartlett the Center for Wooden Boats Educational Specialist will be focusing on methods of incorporating education into the park.  

Courtney, a teacher with 15 years experience was the first youth sailing instructor at the CWB.

Ann Farrington - Creative Director - MOHAI

Ann joined MOHAI in 2003 to lead the creative direction for existing programs and future exhibits, focusting on MOHAI's move o a new museum.  She is a n award winning exhibit developer and designer with over 25 years of experience and is well established as one of the leaders in the development of new museums.  Farrington is former Director of exhibits for the Experience Music Project.  Additionally Farrington served as the project manager for the Newseum in Virginia, and as the director for the development of permanent exhibits at the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C.

Dr. Lorraine McConaghy - Historian - MOHAI

Dr. McConaghy earned her Ph.D. in History from the University of Washington. Joining MOHAI in 1997, Dr. McConaghy is a well-known scholar who serves as lead historian for MOHAI activities including Essential Seattle.   The author of several books, she combines vast knowledge of history with enthusiasm for sharing her love of history with others through accessible, exciting programs.

Leonard Garfield - Executive Director - MOHAI

Leonard has significant experience in the direction of museums and cultural resources including service as

  • Executive Director, King County Office of Cultural Resources 
  • State Architectural Historian, Washington State Office of Archeology and Historic Preservation
  • Historian, State Historical Society of Wisconsin
  • Instructor American Architectural History, University of Michigan

Leonard will be leading MOHAI's team effort, to develop a historical briefing book on the history of Lake Union.

 

Dick Wagner - Founding Director - CWB

Dick Wagner, Founding Director, who established and has guided The Center for Wooden Boats for 30 years and has worked as a consultant to new maritime community centers around the world

Dick will be working to document and compose narratives of the history of Lake Union.

Edel O'Connor - Skills Workshop Manger - CWB

Edel is a boatwright who manages the workshop program at The Center for Wooden Boats and creates CWB's annual Program Catalogue.  CWB works with boatwrights and craftspeople from around the region to create a diverse array of maritime skills workshops.

Jake Beattie - Waterfront Programs Director, CWB

David Hancocks - Interpretive Review Consultant

hancocks.jpg David, was selected as the interpretive review consultant.  He brings a wealth of experience in interpretation design to the project including his design of the Woodland Park Zoo.  

in addition to consulting on this project David works tirelessly for the improved treatment of Elephants in captivity.

Matthew Stubbs - Community Involvment Specialist

Matthew Stubbs of Loud Monks, a Seattle based consulting firm, will be working with the Center for Wooden Boats to encourage and facilitate community involvment.  Loud Monks is providing all of the behind the scenes digital support in the publication of this public web site, and managment of a project managment site.
